Mayor of Kazan, Russia
Ilsur Metshin is a Mayor of Kazan. His career started in 1993 in the administration of the Sovetsky district of Kazan. In 1995, he was appointed a head of the administration of the Sovetsky district. In 1997, Ilsur Metshin was appointed the first deputy head ofthe Vakhitovsky district administration of Tatarstan’s capital — prefect of the"Kazansky Posad" territory. From 1998 to 2005, Ilsur Metshin headed the administration of Nizhnekamsk and Nizhnekamsk region.
In November 2005, Ilsur Metshin was elected head of the administration of Kazan. In January 2006, he became the head of the Executive Committee of the city and in March 2006, he was elected head of the municipality. In October 2010, he was re-elected as the Mayor of Kazan. In September 2015, Ilsur Metshin was re-elected to this post.
