Chair, Large Urban Parks committee World Urban Parks, Sweden
Since 1993, Richard Murray has been heading Ekoparken Association, an umbrella organization for 50 NGOs that guard and support the Royal National City Park in Stockholm. In 2015, together with World Wildlife Fund Sweden, he arranged a conference in Stockholm — Large Parks in Large Cities with representatives from 26 countries. Richard also serves as a Co-Chair of the Large Urban Parks Committee for the World Urban Parks.
In 1978, Richard Murray initiated a local “green” party in Sweden. He has worked with public administration as chief economist of the Swedish Agency for Public Management. Richard is also a senior advisor to Global Utmaning (Global Challenge), a think tank dedicated to energy efficiency, sustainable cities, climate change and macro-economic problems of the world economy.
