Director for development, Provincial parks of the region Antwerp, Belgium
As a director of the Provincial Parks of the Antwerp Region, Peter Verdyck is responsible for the management of four green areas: the parks Rivierenhof, Vrieselhof, Hof Van Leysen, and the natural heathland area Kesselse Heide. The management focuses on several pillars: park maintenance, nature conservation, management of botanical collections, education, management of sports infrastructure, organisation of events. In 2018, the park Rivierenhof won three awards, including the Green Flag Award, and the International Large Urban Parks Silver Award at the World Urban Parks Congress in Melbourne.
Peter Verdyck is an active member of the Large Urban Parks organisation (part of World Urban Parks) as a co-chair of the good practices working group.
