Richard consults on strategic and land use planning, policy development, community engagement. He also provides expertise in specialist training and evaluation for World Urban Parks. Since 2012, he has overseen his own consulting agency Richard O’Byrne Community Environment Planning.
In 1996-2012, Richard O’Byrne took numerous senior management roles in Parks Victoria, a governmental agency responsible for managing parks in Victoria (Australia). The total area under Parks Victoria’s management is over 40,000 square kilometres. It manages 13 Marine National Parks and 11 smaller Marine Sanctuaries. Parks Victoria is one of the most popular destinations in the state of Victoria. Victorian marine, waterways and parklands attract more than 100 million visits every year.
